FBW Membership Policy

 

Membership in the Association shall be open to individuals, entities, and organisations that align with its objectives.

 

The Association recognise the following categories for Membership:

• Associate Members

• Associate Value-chain Members

• Client Members

• Corporate Members

 

1. Eligibility for Membership

Membership is open exclusively to Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) that are legally based and actively operating within the Republic of South Africa.

 

2. Mandatory Business Wellness Assessment. All prospective Associate Value-chain and Client members must undergo a Business Wellness Assessment, provided free of charge. Completion of this assessment is a prerequisite for membership consideration.

 

3. Exclusion Criteria

The Association does not accept applications from businesses whose primary operations fall within the following service categories:

• Branding and Marketing Services

• Commercial and Intellectual Property Law

• Financial Services (including Accounting, Tax, and Auditing)

• Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Services

• People & Culture (Human Resources)

• Risk Management

• Strategic Cognitive Consulting (People Development and Company Culture)

 

4. Membership Structure and Exclusivity

Members will be granted sector exclusivity, ensuring that no two active members operate within the same sector

or professional domain under the same membership scope. This exclusivity is designed to promote trust, collaboration, and non-competitive synergy among members.

Additionally, applicants may choose one of the following options:

• Associate Value-chain members - Service providers and product suppliers providing a service to an Associate member. Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

• Client members – Service providers and product suppliers. Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

Corporate members - The Corporate Membership category is open to any business or organisation that does not qualify as an SMME but wishes to actively support the vision and work of the FBW Business Association. Read more . . . 

 

5. Member Rights and Responsibilities

Each Member will be entitled:

• To attend and address the annual general meeting of the Association, whether in person or through proxy

• To vote at the annual general meeting of the Association, whether in person or through proxy

• To otherwise raise concerns in writing to the Executive Committee to be addressed as soon as is feasible

• To receive feedback from the Executive Committee as soon as possible

• To add the FBW logo on marketing material, including the website, with a link to FBW.

 

Each Member commits to:

• Timely payment of monthly membership fees as outlined by the Association.

• Active participation in Association programs, activities, and engagements where possible

• Signing the FBW Code of Conduct

• Members commit to offering fellow members and Associates preferential rates

 

Membership Fees

• All payments must be made out to First Business Wellness Admin NPC

• Payment confirmation should be emailed to admin@businesswellness.co.za

• VAT is not applicable

• Associate Value-chain members R 200 pm or R 1,920 annually 

• Client members R 300 pm or R 2,880 

• Corporate Membership fees are waived if support or funding is provided. Otherwise, a contribution is negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

• Termination of membership must be in writing
